| Mk1 XR2 fitted with 2.0 litre Zetec
Engine, used for Sprints and Hillclimbs.
Identified as having zero castor (bad) by Cars and
Car Conversions magazine.
New front suspension made to give adjustment of castor angle and
more positive location with the use of rod ends and spherical
bearings.
This included a new crossmember to relocate the front mounting
points to clear the extra length of the 5 speed gearbox.
Rear beam axle modified to allow adjustment of
camber angle and toe in (if needed). Stronger adjustable anti roll
bar manufactured.
|
Notice the reduction in body roll and also the transfer of all
the inner wheel loading to the front driven wheel for maximum
traction (inside rear wheel off the ground).
